Can I export VPN settings?

I have a "Location" nicely set up for a specific situation, and as part of that location are some VPN settings. I see that I can select a service in the left column (as in Airport, Ethernet, or VPN), click the gear icon, and choose Export Configurations. It looks like a great way to store my VPN settings as a file, but when I try to do the actual save -- the file name would have a .networkConnect extension -- I get an error "The export failed. Unable to write the configurations out to the file because there are no configurations."

Anyone know what's wrong?

This is of little concern because I have already recorded my settings, but it would still be nice to export and import specific settings, if not an entire location set-up.
