Hi Klaus 1
Four days ago I did start a thread, Bad Web page display and then i saw this one, so added my words there just in case someone could answer my problem.
I hope that gives you any info you need and who knows you may be able to solve my partiular problem??
Thanks
Barry
Hi. Safari was driving me nuts on my brand new MacBook Pro and I was having the same problem of messed up/jumbled text on certain web sites. I couldn't even place an order on certain sites like Amazon or make a hotel reservation, for example, because the fill-in boxes had text all over them. I finally called technical support and escalated my call to one of the senior advisers. At last, she came up with a solution. The issue (at least for me) was in Safari preferences. Some of the preferences that I had changed over time were somehow interfering with how certain web sites appeared.
In summary, you have to delete any .plist files which have the word "Safari" in them. For me, these files were:
com.apple.Safari.plist
com.apple.Safari.RSS.plist
Once I deleted these and rebooted my MacBook Pro, Safari was returned to it's original state as it appeared when I first got the computer (i.e. the "Welcome" screen, etc.). This completedly solved my problem, and now all of my web sites are looking great with no jumbled text.
To find these .plist files, do the following:
1) Open the Finder window
2) Under "Places", click on the house icon (i.e. your hard drive icon)
3) Go to Library ----> Preferences and then expand the list of files that pops up so that you can read them all. Look for anything that has the word Safari in it (i.e. the two files that I mention above). Drag them to the Trash.
4) Close all windows and restart your computer.
5) After the Restart, open Safari. You will be back at the default Safari "Welcome" screen that first appeared when you got your computer. Try navigating to the troublesome web sites. I hope you will find that your problem is solved. It worked for me!

Go to Safari Preferences in the pull down menu, upper left of the Safari menu bar.
Go to "Advanced" then look at "Never us font sizes smaller than" and make sure it's not set too far over 9-10,
which is the default. When it's set to 14, for instance, some websites go all wonky.
Your problem may not be exactly the same as that of the original poster of this old thread, and it can be very confusing for everybody if we try to answer more than one question in each thread.
In order for us to give your problem our undivided attention in order to try to solve it, would you kindly start your own thread, describing the trouble you are having in the fullest detail, including completing your details to show what Mac you are using, what operating system, and what version of the application in question.
Have you checked your screen resolution in System Preferences'Display?
It should be set to the highest possible.
All.
I have a very similar problem and having checked the ideas as above found that neither were affecting my system but the problem persists.
Anyone any other suggestions??
Rgds
Barry
On the web page your experiencing the problem, go to View and select Zoom Text Only. When the box is checked, go to zoom out or in and, perhaps the problem will correct. It did for me.

Thank you very much indeed. This seems to have solved my problem.
