Safari 5.0.5 (Build 6533.21.1) System Proxy

Hi everybody,

On Snow Leopard 10.6.8 Safari seems not to handle NTLM Domain/User authentification.

I'm creating a new network environment, check the appropriate proxy fields, setting username to domainname\userid.

But Safari breaks, no appropriate console message to investigate further. Unfortunately I'm not the expert of wireshark&co.

Don't know wether this tool would help.

On the other hand "normal" NTLM authentification against trusted domains within the intranet (.htaccess sites for example) works fine. Safari popup the login dialog.

Firefox works with its own proxy configuration.

Hope there's a trick to get safari going with this.

Maybe a local proxy? Squid? Any ideas would appreciated!
