How to turn off Clamshell mode?

I always use 2 screens for my work, but I never use Clamshell mode.

When I close the lid of my MBP, the computer goes to sleep. But if anything wakes it up by accident, it goes to the **** clamshell mode immediately. After this I need to set up the 2 display mode again, and reposition all the windows on the screen manually, which sometimes becomes even difficult because of the resolution differences of the displays!

This is extremely annoying and time consuming! 😠

Sometimes if I dont forget, I just unplug the external monitor before closing the lid, but I really dont want to do it every time.

Is there any way to turn off the clamshell mode completely?

Thanks.
