Q: Motion 5 Supplemental Content

1st: Does Motion 5 come with pre-established Templates like the older versions? I cannot find them anywhere.

2nd: I just downloaded Motion 5 Supplemental Content for the templates, and when I opened Motion 5, I cannot find them. Does anyone know where they are?

In Motion 5, the pre-established templates, are compositions, you will see 8 of them.

To check out content, you will need to go to Motion 5 app, right click and choose 'open package contents' open the contents folder to reveal library contents folder, the extra content that you download. However not all extra content is downloaded to this folder, you can find the rest in Library-Application Support-Final Cut Pro-Templates-Compositions.

When you open In FCPX, you can find a lot of the content in there in the right hand side of the timeline known as the effects browser windows, titles, theme templates, effects, transition etc. Right clicking on any of them allows you to open a copy in Motion 5.

I am not finding the extra compositions either in the library locations provided.  I really would like to find the decode composition.  I bought motion to use this one.

According to the KB, Decode is in the Motion Supplimental Content download.

Motion 5 does come with a few templates. There are some web tutorials floating around that will teach you how you can move templates from Motion 4 to Motion 5 if that's what you want. Please note, some of the templates in Motion 4 were only created in SD. Hope this helps.
