Can you use the Zoom H4N as an audio interface into garageband

Hi Folks

I would appreciate some advice.

GB - iLife 11

OSX 10.6.8

Zoom H4N - firmware 1.72

I purchased a Zoon H4N audio recorder primarily for sound for my film making projects. I notice that you can use itas an audio interface. So I attached my guitar to a an input to the zoom and I select H4 in the preferences in GB yet I hear no sound when I play it or get a recording level.

Do you know is it compatible and if it is what steps do I require so I can use my guitar with it

It should definitely work! Have you checked the manufacturer's website for an updated driver?

I checked both the Japanese and the importers site and have left a support call with them.

I have no problems adding voiceovers using the device to Final Cut Pro X ( OK I was the one that bought it ) but nothing with the guitar attached to GB.

Have you managed to connect ?

Did you select the correct track input channel in track info window?

Track record enabled?

Adjust input gain on the Zoom?

I found the answer by googling, posted into another similar topic so hopefully applebots don't think I'm spam, just trying to help! It worked perfectly for me!!!
1. Plug in your Zoom H4N to your computer via usb cable
2. Use the menu scroller to scroll down to Audio I/F and select
3. Scroll down to ‘Connect’ and select
4. On your computer, select H4N from your microphone input preferences
