Why are songs disappearing from my playlists?

Hi everyone,

Over the past few days I have been having problems creating music playlists in the iPod app on my iPad 1. I add songs as normal, then tap close to finish the list, and literally before my eyes certain tracks will just disappear from the playlist. I can edit and add them back in, but it's a 50/50 chance they will disappear again. If they do get added back in, sometimes it's like the list is recovered and I end up with duplicate tracks on the list. When I sync with my MacBook occasionally more tracks will disappear. The songs are still in my library, they are just disappearing from the playlist. It's not a particularly big concern, more annoying than anything else.

It seems to be happening to songs I have recently downloaded from iTunes on my iPad, but not always the same ones.

I'm having exactly the same problem. All my software is updated, so that can't be it. Maybe it's glitch on the software or something. It's so obnoxious!

I get the exact same behavior. It is maddening. I find if I use the "sources" function, it happens more. I ended up wresting with it via the album view and it seemed better, but much less convenient. I've had this occur on the iPod app on my iPad, as well as on my iPod touch. Editting playlists is very flaky.

In addition to seeing this, I just had the playlist that I spent a good 30 minutes making, working with the disappearing bug, itself disappear after two days. The whole playlist vanished.

Ok, so I had my phone backing up to iCloud and not the computer/library straight up. I had the exact same problem with content disappearing. I unchecked the "sync only checked songs" button at the bottom of the summary tab (with the phone connected), and then backed the phone up and synced to itunes straight up. This completely solved the problem. Do this for a solution! Thank me later,
