iPad 2 Photo Slideshows Bug with Digital AV Adapter

Does anyone have this problem. The only transition available with the iPad adapter is Dissolve. The 5 transitions that are normally there disappear when outputting to TV. Is this intentional or a bug?

I have noticed the same issue with my iPad 1, it will often freeze up and stop communicating via my RGB connection.
