Does creating a Camera Archive in FCP X verify the data while creating the archive? If so, it'd be an awesome tool— provided it's fast and you're going to work with FCP X anyways.
iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), 3.4 Ghz i7, 12 GB RAM, 2 GB VRAM
To me it looks like a direct copy of the SD card ith a plist XML of the metadata

Here is what I do.
1) Make an archive of the card. Archive is backed up offsite.
2) Ingest the video from the archive copy.
3) Review the ingested media. When all is well, reformat the card.
There may be a better way, but that has worked for me.
