How to Reveal (show) the URL in hyperlink on the page

I have a (WP) document with several hyperlinks. The hyperlink shows in my document as text. Such as "check this website" If I use inspector, I can see the URL and it is active. I want to print the document for a friend (they do not want electronically) and I want the URL's to show up on the printed page instead of the text "check this website" - which would not reveal the actual website URL.

I've searched the discussions, but I can't find any thing related to my question. Any ideas, suggestions, or answers?

Thanks! 😀

I guess that checking the box pointed by the cyan arrow may help.

To be the AW6 successor, iWork MUST integrate a TRUE DB, not a list organizer !

Hmm. I checked "Automatically detect email and web addresses"

I even saved the document and closed and re-opened Pages. But, when I view my document, I still see the hyperlinked "word" not the URL on the page. I can see the URL in Inspector, but not on the pages that I am going to print.

See the word "source" ? Instead of seeing "source," I want to see "http://www.healingdaily.com....."

Is there a way to do that??

So your question is : how may I ask Pages to replace short URL by expanded ones ?

As far as I know, there is no in_the_box tool.

If I may put my hands on a file embedding such short URLs, I will try to build a script fitting your needs.

Maybe you may send such a document to my mailbox.

Click my blue name to get my address.

As it's 21h13 here in France, I would do that tomorrow.

Thank you for your offer to build a script. It's a short document, and I can go through the document and add the URL's. I wouldn't want you to go to the extra work for that. I was just hoping there was some step I was missing. When using MS Word (at work) if you right click on a "short URL" (as you call it), there is an option to show or expand the URL. So I thought maybe I was just missing a step in Pages somewhere, because I have found if I look around long enough, I find the way to do it (most of the time)!! (I much prefer Pages over Word and would never think about putting Word on my Mac. But, it was the only thing we used at work.)

Thanks so much! You are always very helpful!

Hi Linda,

To Show the URL, it's necessary in Pages only to hover the mouse pointer over the labet to which the link is attached.

To 'expand' the link you can right click on the label, choose Copy URL, then click to the right of the space following the label and paste. This is a 'permanent' change to the document (ie. to revealed URL will remain until it is deleted).

In the Pages document, "Apple" is a link, as is "http://www/apple.com" Both point to the same web location. The two separate links point to the same web location.

Barry
