The other day, I switched the nationality of my iphone from USA to ITALIAN... played around for a little while, then switched it back to USA...
but ever since then, the dictionary has been trying to be italian... it did not go back to the USA dictionary for spell check!

Tap the "Globe" in the lower left of your screen shot, select the english keyboard.

Did you UNCHECK Italian when switching back to English? Check to be sure only English is checked.
Try Settings/General/Reset - Reset Keyboard Dictionary.
Thanks guys! Yeah there was a leftover Italian keyboard that I deleted. Now all is well.
