is the macbook pro 13" big enough

I can't really talk. I'm on 17" of sweetness.

I have had many friends buy 15" and say they wish they got the 17".

I would say get the 15", but you can always hook up an external later.

Plus it has a better graphics card.

Before buying my Macbook Pro 13 I had an 15 inch notebook...and now I can say that this size is the best for me..cause it s not too big, still not to small and not too heavy...and it s very good for everything not just browsing the web...

As already stated... go into a Store and have a Play with Both...

If you feel the 13" is sufficient for your needs Great...

But bear in mind the differences between the 15" & the 13" are not just Screen Size...

I have an iMac 27" and have recently been travelling using a friends 13" MBP and I must say I found it an Excellent Machine...

My suggestion is to do what others on this thread have said. Go to a store and try the 13" MacBook Pro to see if you like it. I currently have a 13" Pro and I absolutely love it, I used to use a desktop Windows PC and I converted to this MacBook Pro 8 months ago. I have no regrets of getting the 13" model. I use it for absolutely everything, even gaming under Windows 7. Also the 13" MacBook Pro has a full sized qwerty keyboard so there should be no issues for you using it for typing reports. I think the 13" is a great size for any work involving one big window like that. The 13" is by far the most popular MacBook Pro size among my friends who have modest needs and they all absolutely love it. Some of them used to have 15" and are happy that they can carry a smaller, lighter laptop that does not skimp on features. I personally use a 15" but only because I need the screen space for multiple windows, palettes and toolbars, etc. in advanced graphics apps. It's definalty something you have to see for yourself first hand. The only key thing to remember is the extra weight of at 15" doesn't sound like much on paper but if you are travling with it a lot it can make a big difference.

I have a 13" MacBook Pro which is used for Digital Painting and Photo Editing, as well as all my university work. Before I bought it I also wondered about the size until I visited my local Apple store. Other factors that I had to consider were my disability and eyesight problems, but I chose the 13" version three years ago for its screen clarity and its portability and would never part with it.

As others before me have rightly said, go and try one yourself......you won't be disappointed.

I think a 13" will be sufficient enough for your needs. I recently got the 13" macbook pro and it is quite nice.

If you only need it for browsing and typing, it is quite enough and like some others stated have a look at the models available in a store.:)

I had a 15.4" HP Pavilion and recently purchased a 13.3" MPB. I was worried that the drop in screen size would be noticeable, but I have not had a problem adjusting and dont even notice the difference in screen size.

The 13" Screen is perfect for what you are doing. The extra money to upgrade the screen size is ridiculous. I watch movies on my 13" and have no problem. Go for it.

Why not go to an Apple Store and try it there?

I have a MBP 13" and I don't regreat the size. Despite sometimes I would like to have a 15", it was out of my budget.

I had a 17" laptop before my 13" MBP and I am quite surprised at how the screen is not to small.
