Yap, it's not working!
it's terribly annoying actually... I would just wish that we could also get some scrubbing functionality back on the magic mouse. Seriously, if you watch the promo-video for osx lion and how they're ALL about multitouch and stuff it's absolutely ridiculous how this is not working in fcpx!
Perhaps this is likely to be functional when Lion ships. We should know in a few days.
There are a few people here running dev copies of Lion. Can anyone confirm that multitouch functions fully in that cat?
I'm on Lion, and gestures still arent working.
I bought and installed Lion today, and none of the gestures are working for me -Not even scrolling.
Scrolling works for me just fine. But Skimming in the Timeline is now not functioning.
What makes it even worse is the fact that now, even LESS multitouch guestures seem to be working, like scolling with two fingers to the side formerly travelled through the timeline on a edit-to edit basis, and now swipes my fullscreen apps in lion!!! (Which is horrible, since I loved the two finger swipe on my magic mouse to skip back and forth through websites...)
In another thread someone suggested opening System Preferences ->Trackpad, and deselecting/reselecting all of the options. Some report it worked for them, others no. I'm one of the nos... I've also reported to Apple that after attempting that fix, I became totally unable to scroll any Safari windows using the slider! Had to force quit.
I think we've found a major bug in Lion. 😟
Sorry, I have to appologize, two finger back and forth in safari now is just one finger 😉 alright 😉
This to will pass. I am guessing it will work as intended (and explained in the manual) in the first FCPX update. It's anyones guess when this will happen, but until them it ***.
I bought a couple of Magic Trackpads way back when specifically for the timeline scrolling and zooming in FCP Studio. It was awesome. Looking forward to it coming to X.
Gestures not working even when activated with iMac and Magic Mouse. I had to unpair and pair and regained some functionality, not all are back.
I use a brand new MacBook Air, and suddenly today the magicmouse movement was erratic, jumping around aimlessly. At the same time, vertical and horizontal scrolling was gone. Actually, clicking was the only thing still working.
After searching the forums and trying blindly to find solutions (including downloading magicprefs, deleting preference files in the library / preference folder etc., restarting ( hotstart ) the machine, - suddenly I got a Kernel panic / crash. Never seen this before.... Looking at the log after the forced restart, there was something wrong with
com.apple.driver.AppleMultitouchDriver
- perhaps crashed. Anyway, I had to coldstart the machine and - presto ! - it worked.
So, if you´re at loss, try coldstarting your machine ( i.e. completely off, then on again, instead of just restart ).
If still not working, try to search for the driver name above and solutions for this.
well that doesnt have anything to do with the original post...
In the meantime.. since apple hasnt done anything about the issue, I'm beginning to wonder if they maybe just copy/pasted the article about multitouch gestures from the fcp 7 manual...
Multitouch Gestures not working.
