Is there a way to find an older backup (perhaps in the trash) to restore from?

I am trying to restore my iphone from backup. iTunes however only keeps one backup. I need an older backup. Is it possible to find an older one in the trash or elsewhere? If so, where would I find it?

On your computer.

From your iTunes menu bar click iTunes / Preferences - Devices.
