Playing blurays
I just got an external USB blu-play drive to attach t mimic, and although it can read the content, it won't play the movies. Does anyone know how to play blu-ray movies on the iMac?

I don't see the edit button when using an iPad, so I can't fix the spelling errors. I really hate auto-correct.
You can't play Blu-Ray video discs directly (unless you run Windows.) There is third-party software that can convert such discs into a playable form, but since it's a copyright violation to do so, the subject is off limits in these forums.
Blu-ray isn't supported on the Mac. You have to do some ugly hacks to play the content: http://themacfeed.com/2010/08/steve-jobs-meet-blu-ray-how-to-play-blu-ray-media- on-a-mac/
Thanks to your external USB Blu-ray drive, playing a Blu-ray movie on your iMac is not a dream any longer. Of course, a third party software must play the main role in this. If you like, I could list several choice for you
These two both work in OS X:

If you try both, you'll see they're exactly the same software except for the interface button design. Also rather ridiculously expensive at $40, but I've tried them in demo mode, and they both work well.
Due to something about copyright verification, an Internet connection is required while watching a disk.
