Looking for suggestions. Recording a guide VO.
In FCP 7 I would record the guide VO script within a sequence called Voice Over. I would then cut the VO within that sequence and paste the audio clips into my master sequence. What would be a work thru with FCP X? When I create a brand new project to work along side the main edit the record audio does not give that project as a record destination.

1. Position the playhead where you want to start recording in the Timeline.
2. Choose Window > Record Audio.
Your audio recordings are attached to the primary storyline at the playhead position.
Yes, thats not very helpful when editing a film where the VO guide is constantly changing, or if at the start of the edit you have a guide vo that is recorded in one session and then edited into the film as you edit. Really you want the vo to appear in the browser as another piece of audio that can be cut into. You don't want it sitting on the primary storyline.
Couldnt you just create a new compound clip in your browser, double click it so it opens in a timeline then record your audio? Kinda the same as old fcp with doing it in its own sequence?
