I want to begin working in FCP X but i never upgraded to FCP7. Can I still install FCPX on the same hard drive as FCP6.0.6 using the instructions for installing FCP X on the same HD as Final Cut Pro version from 2009? I do not already have Motion 4 I have Motion 3.0.2.

FCP X is a stand alone version. It is not an upgrade. This means you do not need a previous version of FCP.
You should understand it will not open projects created in your v6 FCP (or any other version either).
