Safari mouseover info-windows problems

Hi all, [Safari 5.05 and latest MacOSX in iMac.]

I am becoming more and more frustrated with a few things on my Safari.

The latest irritation is: mouseovers, where a small window with additional information.

pops up next to the cursor. Such as the sites below.

For me, when I mouseover the link or click.. the window opens up so far down the page

that if I mouseover any link that is about half way down the page, the

window is out of view ...

http://tvguide.co.uk/ (mouseover any of the program names)

Also with this site (http://www.teleread.com/ ) if I visit an article

and want to post, I click on the Guest button and I can detect that a

little window opens but it is down out of sight ... and unusable...

This is happening in a lot of places.

What is going on :(((

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.4) <-- your profile ??

No problem here on Safari 5.0.5 / v10.6.8 with that site.

If you have any Extensions installed, Safari / Preferences, turn that off, quit then relaunch Safari. Try the tvguide uk site.

Also, back to Safari / Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect: Enable plug ins.

Quit then relaunch Safari. If that made a difference, then try troubleshooting.

Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

Tks for your reply Carolyn,

SOLVED ... after getting suggestions via usenet and other fora...

In my Safari, use a custom CSS stylesheet because I can't read the really small text

on my big iMac.

The Style sheet is:

body {

zoom: 135%;

}

That's all !

But when I cancel it in Safari preferences and go back to 'none selected'..... All of the mouseover problems disappear !

I find it strange never mind a bloody nuisance .. because if I now go to

a problem page and zoom in with Command+ it has NO EFFECT on the

mouseovers. They work fine.

I say a nuisance because i loved my 135% zoom - I didn't have to command+ on every bloody page I visited .. 😟

Why does the 135% zoom in the stylesheet screw everything up so much ??
