Why doesn't the iPhone or iPad connect via bluetooth?

I try to connect my iPhone to other phones or even other iPhone and it doesn't find any phone,even the iPad.It only says searching and ''Now visible'' but doesn't connects with anything.

What was the Bluetooth made for, if it doesn't work with own Apple's devices??So,it works with what??

It works with the things it is designed to work with. i.e. headsets, headphones, speakers, car stereos, other iOS devices for peer to peer apps and computers for internet tethering.

There are over 20 different Bluetooth profiles - not all are supported by all devices. Apple chose to support the ones here:
