My Apple TV plays a seemingly random audio clip or sound buffer instead of the confirmation tone

Weird Bug...

When I use my Apple TV remote to pause or search while playing YouTube or Netflix videos it is now playing an approximate eight second audio clip from a previously played tv show or movie rather than the confirmation tone. So what should be a quick DING sound turns into hearing the exact same eight seconds of audio from a tv show. This plays mixed in to whatever video you start for the first eight seconds or for eight seconds whenever you pause or perform any other function that would make it play what should have been the short function confirmation tone. This is driving my family crazy...

Any ideas on how to fix?

Lots of laughs. The answer is don't have your Mac mini anywhere near your apple tv withou first turning off the infrared receiver as it will start front row and your apple tv remote will be making selections for both the tv and front row. Since both were hooked to the same audio system it was not readily apparent what was happening.

Pair your mini and AppleTV with different Apple remotes, one for each, or disable Mini's IR receiver under Security in System Preferences.
