You need to be more specific.  What is the exact problem, i.e. what happens when you try?

Without more information, it's really impossible to say.

    • Do you live in a country that has an App Store?
    • Do you have an iTunes account?
    • Is the software on your iPad up to date?
    • What happens when you try do download something?
    • Are you getting any error messages?
    • What steps have you already taken to trouble shoot (e.g. resetting your iPad by holding down the Home and power button until the silver apple appears, etc)?

One more to add to Meg's list .....

Do you have restrictions enabled? Go to Settings>General>Restrictions. If you selected "on" in the Restrictions setting - check and see if you have apps restricted. If so, turn it off to download apps again.

Good one! I always forget about restrictions.

Also with the restrictions, if there have been ratings restrictions enabled (your iPad locked out of accessing material rated above a certain level) that could also be part of the issue.

Check iTunes and see if you have a pending or stalled download in there. If you do, finish that download or delete it if you can. If you can't finish or delete the download on the iPad, do it in iTunes on your computer and then sync the iPad. Then go back to the apps and see if they will download.

If that doesn't work or if that was not the problem, go to Settings>Store >Apple ID, tap your ID and sign out. Then reboot the iPad, Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Then go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and sign in again and see if the apps will update.
