What does the "i'" stand for?

I could not find an appropriate place for this question so I am posting it here as this is one of my most frequently visited communites. What does the "i" mean in iTunes, iPad, iTouch...? Your responses are appreciated.

MBP, Mac OS X (10.6.7), HP WinXP Desktop, Dell WinXP Netbook, iPod, iTouch, iPad

No, I'm not mistaken. I was working as an Apple HED account exec when the iMac was introduced, and at that time Steve Jobs himself said that the "i" stood for "Internet". There have since been a number of additional interpretations and explanations of what the "i" meant, and you can assign whatever meaning you wish.


Just FYI, jumping into a thread that's been idle for other four months probably isn't of a lot of use.
