I could not find an appropriate place for this question so I am posting it here as this is one of my most frequently visited communites. What does the "i" mean in iTunes, iPad, iTouch...? Your responses are appreciated.

Back when the iMac was first introduced, the "i" was said to stand for "Internet", but now it really doesn't mean anything literal. It's just a branding convention since the "i" prefix is so strongly identified with Apple, particularly their consumer-level products.

individual
instruct
inform
inspire
I for one still think these are true for the iProducts Apple makes.
No, I'm not mistaken. I was working as an Apple HED account exec when the iMac was introduced, and at that time Steve Jobs himself said that the "i" stood for "Internet". There have since been a number of additional interpretations and explanations of what the "i" meant, and you can assign whatever meaning you wish.
Just FYI, jumping into a thread that's been idle for other four months probably isn't of a lot of use.

You can assign whatever meaning you wish, but as I said back in 2011, and this is straight from Steve Jobs, the "i" initially meant "Internet" but now has no specific meaning.
You might want to note the dates on posts you intend to reply to, by the way.

The real meaning of "i" stands for "intelligent"
like iPhone = intelligent Phone
iPad = intelligent Pad
iTune = intelligent Tune
and so on.
