I can't figure out how to give "helpful answer" credits - what do I do to give someone helpful when they assist me?
Allow me to supplement.
A couple folks have assisted tremedously on a couple of issues I've had (related posts in other areas of Discussions). The problems are not Solved (and I know how to mark an answer as Solved), but a couple answers have been Helpful and I'd like to give those folks their 5 points credit.
How do I do that?

You should have a "Helpful Answer" button next to the "Correct Answer" button as show below.
Also, check to see that you are signed in.

There was a Helpful Answer option here on this (and Yes - I am and was logged in) but I got 2 very, very helpful answers over in the 10.6 forums on the latest security update and 10.6.8 yesterday, and my only option to either was "Correct Answer" - which would have been incorrect.
So a Helpful Answer option was not available, but would have been apprropriate,

If that is the case, then I see that there are already 2 Helpful Answers given out by you to baltwo. You can only give out 2 Helpful Answers per thread.

Well, I can see the legend but there are no butons available!
Did you start that discussion/thread? Only the original poster can give helpful's or solved's. And, if you are referring to the thread linked to by Matt K, then the OP has already awarded all the helpful's available.

I have the same question; I started a thread and wanted to mark solved/helpful, but see no buttons for doing this. Maybe it's just not working, because I do think I've seen these buttons before.

It always works, Diane. But only for the original poster.
Try it out. Ask this same question by starting a new thread. Your post will have green and gold stars on it when you respond to someone who has answered you.
Click reply, then the appropriate coloured star, add your thanks, and send.
