No signal is coming through to the TV, only a rapid blinking light on the box.

I was in the middle of watching a movie and it just stopped and now the Apple TV isn't sending a signal to my tv. I tried unplugging it multiple times and still no luck. Now I have a half watched movie that I paid for and can't finish watching! Does anyone know how to fix this?

Apple TV, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

If it's the old silver AppleTV then I fear it may have failed. Out of warranty?


If it's the black AppleTV 2 and you've unplugged you could try connecting to computer and restoring via iTunes but it should also still be under warranty.


Contact iTunes Store from your iTunes account and Report a Problem with the rental or use the iTunes store support pages at apple.com. Explain and they may refund the rental which will presumably expire soon.
