Activation Server down?

from what I am reading in the news it appears apple server has been hacked......more than like that is the root cause of that the activation server related to IOS 5 beta activation is down....all other activation ios is fine

Yuppppp, I'm in the same boat that you are!!!! Doesn't it suck!!!! Can't use my phone 😟 Honestly though I thought it was something I did wrong. It's good to know that you have the same problem...... Hope it comes back up soon. I called them and they said within the next 24 hours.

im having the same problem today... where do i go to get the latest news to see if its up an running again

they have just gone off in the uk for me now around 10 pm 8th july

i just installed iOS 5 beta 2 on my iPhone 4...now I can't activate it.

Yes - they are all down.

I'm part of the Apple Developer Network and just spent the entire day at my local Apple Store working with a Genius.

Really ***** for those of trying to develop iOS 5-based devices.

If your part of the develop network there is also a support thread there that you can watch for status updates.

if you want, you can restore to ios4.3.3 if the iPhone was your phone

Im in the same boat, downloaded beta 2 on my iphone 4 and cant activate it....How would I downgrade? From what I understand iOS 5 beta 2 doesn't allow that.

If you haven't already updated your iTunes to the beta version all you need to do is download and restore to the 4.3.x ipsw.

If you've already installed the beta iTunes you'll need to find a system with the current general release version (10.3.1) and do a restore from that system.

If you can't do any of those - you can head to your local Apple Store and a Genius can do it there.

To downgrade, you just need to get your iPhone into DFU mode, and then click on restore. Once restored, you can restore any backup version.
