we have two ipads and two different itunes accounts, can I sync my wife's apps and she mine?

No. You can sync one iTunes account with multiple devices, but you can not sync multiple accounts with one iOS device.

Yes, you can use the apps from both accounts on the same iPad. You will both need to authorize each others iTunes account for use in each others computer account. You may authorize up to five Macs/PCs to use stuff from your account and that computer can then transfer the stuff to up to 10 iOS devices.

Open iTunes in your account and have your wife sign into her iTunes account in the iTunes app. First authorize your computer account to use her iTunes stuff from the iTunes Store menu. Then have your wife download all of the iOS apps that you want to use into iTunes. Now you do the same in her computer account.

Remember that only you can update apps acquired with your iTunes account and vice versa. So you will need to either sign into iTunes on the computer or directly on each others iPad to update any apps that need it. It is a little confusing at first, but you get the hang of it quickly.

I'm confused by this. Can you please explain the procedure going one way? I.e. I want to transfer a movie from the itunes on my wife's computer to my ipad that uses my own itunes account.

4. Have your wife download the stuff that she has acquired from the iTunes Store(s) that she will share with you onto your computer; music, videos, apps, books, etc.

5. Select the things that she has shared that you want on your iPad and sync.

Once those items have been downloaded to my computer can I then log back into my iTunes account as usual?

How do I do step 3? Do you mean to hook my wife's device up to my computer when it is logged into her account?

I saw something about home sharing in iTunes as well. How does that work with separate iTunes accounts? I'm wondering if I can be logged into my account but logged into the home share account of my wife's.

4. Your computer is now able to play the stuff she has acquired, all she has to do is transfer it to your computer over your LAN r download her stuff again from Apple directly on your computer.
