since yesterday photos don't appear in events

The photos that I download from my camera do not appear in events. They do appear in the photo-library. When I try to find them from the upload-function of a social-media site (hyves = something like a Dutch facebook) they are no where to be found. They are not uploaded with a wrong date. I never had this problem before and I'm a iPhoto-user from the beginning of iPhoto with a library of almost 11,000 pictures. I'm using version 9.1.3.

They do appear in the photo-library.

This is in the iPhoto Window? Right?

The Library View is just another view of the Same material that's in Events. So, if there in the Library then they are in an Event.

Right Click on a photo and select 'Show Event' to be brought to the shot in it's Event.

Or, enable Event Titles in the View Menu to see the Photos view broken by Event

I did find the event now thanx to you. But the event is al the way in the beginning of my library. Between pics from 1997 and 2000 and the date-stamp on the photos is correct: 21 jun - 7 jul 2011. Any idea why it is way in the beginning of my library? And the pictures still don't appear in the upload-window of social-media. I even made an album in the hope that that would appear, but I can see al my albums except that one.

Start with the basic fix:

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)

What's the plist file?

For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

When you push the upload button on a site (any site, even this one), a specialized finder appears with a direct link to iPhoto (and more). thru this finder you can search your iPhoto library like you are in iPhoto even if iPhoto (the program) is not opened. When I look in this finder in "last import" it doesn't show the last import but an older one. Also the event is nowhere to be found and the same goes for the last imported photos in the photo library or the special album I made for these pictures.

User uploaded file

Here the last import in iPhoto. Notice the album "Winkel" at the bottom.

User uploaded file

and here the last import thru the upload-finder. You see that is shows an other picture as last import and the "Winkel" album is gone. The album "afscheid Christine" what I deleted today is in this view still here.

Quit iPhoto

Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.

Look there for two XML files with AlbumData in their name

Drag them to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.

Re-Start iPhoto. Does that help?
