There is nothing that you can do to fix a "500 Internal Server Error". This is an error message returned from a web site when the server encounters a problem internally. It's an HTTP code.
This error probably indicates that there is a bug in the coding of the web site. Whatever request you made encountered this error. You could notify the webmaster of the site about the problem so that it can be corrected.
What website were you using?
I was half way through the download when I received the error. Which means, I need to start again and cannot due to the 500 error. Come on Apple, this is absolute garbage on your behalf.
Yes, I've been there. LOL Wouldn't you know that they are having issues with first time posters and asre trying to resolve it, so I won't be able to do anything about reporting it until they get it fixed. I did email someone about it and hopefully, they will get the message to the webmaster.
I am having the exact same problem with a website: Food.com-- I hope someone comes up with a solution!
That is a server problem. No one can solve it other than the website itself. Notify them of the problem. Try their support forum at http://www.food.com/bb/viewforum.zsp?forum_id=4
Normally you can't download anything to the iPad as it doesn't have a file system - what exactly were you downloading?
I wasn't downloading anything. I don't have an iPad. My problem was occuring on my laptop-- just trying to click on a recipe in Food.com.
I was actually addressing the person who said they were "halfway through the download" when they got the error. But your reply proves there is a problem with the website.
