How to install Skype on iPhone

I just bought a new iPhone. I want to install Skype. I selected "App Store" and signed into my iTunes account. I search for the Skyp applications and selected "Install". My question is how do I start Skype? I was expecting the Skype icon to appear on the iPhone display but it did not. Do I have to somehow do this manually? When I go back to the "App Store" it says that Skype is installed. I'm probably the only one in the world who doesn't know how to do this.

Have you synced your iPhone since you downloaded Skype to iTunes?

It's probably put the icon on the screen to the right of where you're looking. Swipe to the left to see the next screen.

I've tried swiping but there is only one screen. I can swipe to the search function but not to another screen.

I have not yet synced my iPhone. And I installed Skype through the "App Store" on the iPhone, not through iTunes. I was not aware that I could download Skype to iTunes. Is that how I am supposed to install applications on the iPhone?

May be time to reset your iPhone.

You can download apps either way. I generally do it with iTunes because I am usually on my Mac rather then my iPhone.

Someone please help me. I had skype installed on my iPhone and it was active. I got update alert for skype and I clicked to update but since then Skype icon kept showing "waiting" for two days now. What do I do to reinstall Skype on my iphone4. Thanks.
