Malfunctioning Macbook Pro Trackpad

Okay. I have a 15" MBP from mid 2009. It's worked nearly perfectly thus far, but today it started to have major issues with the trackpad (the trackpad built in, not an external TrackPad). The curser skips around a lot... sometimes it responds correctly, sometimes it responds incorrectly and sometimes it doesn't respond at all. It clicks when I click sometimes, but most of the time it'll move and click something in a different place or it will click when i'm not touching the pad.

I have no clue what to do... I've rebooted a couple of times and that's not helping at all. Of course, I'm out of warranty so I'll have to pay for apple support and thought it'd be a good idea to start a discussion first just to check.

Any ideas??
