According to this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1275 :

Error 1015: This error is caused by attempts to downgrade the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch's software. This can occur when you attempt to restore using an older .ipsw file. Downgrading to a previous version is not supported. To resolve this issue, attempt to restore with the latest iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch software available from Apple. This error can also occur when an unauthorized modification of the iOS has occurred.

You may have bricked your device.

If you get this in recovery mode and you aren't attempting to downgrade the iOS, it means your phone was jailbroken in the past and can no longer be restored or updated by any approved method.

You can Google to find "alternative" methods which can't be discussed here, but you may need to throw a welcoming party for your new paperweight.

You're welcome.

You can try tinyumbrella which may be able to get it out of recovery mode, but won't fix the problem that put it there in the first place, and you still won't be able to restore or update the iOS.

Unfortunately, the jailbreak devs, always say it's "perfectly safe" and "just restore to delete it" (just before they make you agree to an "as is" waver of responsibility). We see more and more posts about the 1015 error which refutes those claims.
