Question

iPad 1 hook up stops iTunes

When trying to synch my iPad with my iMac iTunes, it won't show and causes iTunes to hang
Tried several hard resets of iPad
Tried several reboots of iMac
Tried several reboots of iTunes
Tried leaving iPad connected when rebooting iMac
Sick of trying everything
Any suggestions out there?

iMac iPad iPhone, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

I finally had to decide to do a full reset on the iPad. After clearing all data on the iPad, it asked me to connect to iTunes. After I connected it asked me to restore from my last back up or set up as new. I decided to restore from back up and I am delighted to report that this sorted the issue completely. Phew I thought I would have to buy a new machine there for a moment. It took a few hours to reload everything, but it did that beautifully and without any issues. I am pleased that I had a chance to test out a complete wipe and restore. Very impressed with this!
