My issue is with compressing files on my MacBook Pro unibody. I have tried on several different compression programs to compress my mp3 as well as wav files but when my compression is completed and I option click or right click the zip file it is the same size as the original file therefor making the compression completely useless. PLEASE HELP! This issue is making my brain hurt.

Well MP3 is already a compression, further compression to zip does not bring much. Same for wav.
I appreciate the quick response but I have recieved zip folders from colegues and musicians that where really 56mb and somehow they where able to compress these files to be small enough to fit into an email. 😟
Well then ask them how they did it because I agree with the other reply that you can't get there from here. Once compressed it is compressed and that is it.

They have told me to simply right click and compress and it should compress it to just about half the size and or suitable to be added as an attachment in an email.
like I said above, you cannot compress a MP3 much further, try a RAR compressor for another 1%.
BTW, a 56MB file compressed to 50% does not go with email. And which file type was compressed?
