The disc can’t be burned because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0x8002006E

I'm having these same problems. Anyone have any suggestions?

Slow down the Burn speed to 4x or 8x this version of leopard won't burn any faster. APPLE FIX THIS PROBLEM or at least help people figure out whats going on, there are many threads about this will little or no solutions. I tried many suggestions, slowing down the speed is the only thing that helped.

I unfortunately cannot burn CDs nor DVDs any longer.

I was able to burn them until last week, but now the machine started making a horrible noise, like the CD/DVD is being scratched. I tried different brands, and it still won't work.

How can I fix this?

I get the same error message, (8002006E) but when I slowed my burn down to 10x on my Lion OS it worked ok, two times in a row. I'm hoping this is all I need to remember!

I just called Applecare with the same issue. They told me at frst to buy a different brand of disc!

However after some troubleshooting eventually we deleted a file called "com.apple.finder.plist" which is found in the Preferences folder Under Library.

I deleted this file (which subsequently gets regenerated) and then burned a disc and it worked. So it wasnt a brand issue.

I could not find anything that would fix this problem, however I discovered that if you set the burning speed to any option except the maximum, the disc will be burnt properly. Simple choose a slower speed and this should work fine.

I get this same problem on my macbook. I can no longer listen to CDs or watch DVDs or even put in installation disks.

I have the same problem error code 0x8002006E on my iMac 27, I really make this happen in a "Mac" dislike. I dislike very much and see so many people here with the same problem and, years pass between each other looking solution and there is no response from any Apple technician. What happens? perhaps no one working there or are not interested in that issue?
