Best workflow for ProRes video in FCP to Vimeo

Hello:

I am trying to get the best results (like all of us) from my video when it streams online via Vimeo (and YouTube, etc). I am a Vimeo Plus member so have access to the additional tools. I would welcome any advice on how to get the best from my content.

For the record I have followed the Vimeo guidelines and the results are OK - but I feel they could be better.

So here's what I am working with: The content is a mix of live action shot against green screen, animation and standard live action.

All looks good in the master edit (clean chroma keys, etc.)

The content was shot in HDV and captued into FCP as ProRes 422 (1440 x 1080)

I now want to use Compressor to create an h264 file to upload to Vimeo. I am not concerned with it being in HD I simply want it to look good on as many platforms as possible. This is an education project and will be viewed sometimes on quite old school computers as well as iPads, etc.

If anyone has come up with a good workflow they would like to share or has any advice or suggestions I promise good karma in return.

Again, I am not concerned with with final product streaming in HD - I just want it to be seen clean across the various (and multiple) digital devices that viwers use.

Thanks
