Does interlaced video convert to progressive when captured in ProRes

Forgive me if this is a rooky question but does video shot in an interlaced format (HDV 10801 shot using an ancient Sony HVR-Z1U) automatically convert to Progressive when captured as ProRes 422?

Eveything looks really good in the master edit on FCP 7 but I am now preparing to convert to .h264 using Compressor for internet streaming on Vimeo, etc. and I'm not sure whether to output it as Progressive or to use the deinterlace tools.

I know it would have been groovy if my footage was shot in Progressive to start with - but thems the breaks)

Thanks for any advice offered.

Best,
