Should converting a .MP4 file to a ProRes LT in mpeg streamclip take a REALLY long time?

sorry, couldn't resist. Depends on pixel dimensions and output format.
Have you tried using compressor and setting up a cluster? Not sure compressor will be able to deal with the file, but worth a shot. Don't know if mpegstreamclip can take advantage of the multiple cores on most recent macs.
