Nothing, if you reset the iPad all of you his data is gone. When you plug it into your computer it should sync your data.

If you have an iPod you would have to have authorized your computer to buy from iTunes - correct? You authorized the computer? The iPad will sync with your iTunes library when connected to your computer and when iTunes is running - just like the iPod. You don't sync the iPad to the iPod. OK. I reread and I think you meant iPad not iPod so that statement doesn't apply now.

What exactly did you do and what did you expect to happen when you did it?

Does iTunes see your iPad? If you look on the left side of the iTunes window - under the devices heading - about halfway down - is your iPad showing up in there? If so, click on the eject icon and disconnect the iPad from your computer. If you don't see the iPad under devices, just disconnect it since there will be no eject icon.

If you have successfully downloaded iTunes - reboot your computer and try again.

Your computer must meet these requirements.

  • PC with USB 2.0 port
  • Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
  • iTunes 10.2 or later recommended
    (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
  • iTunes Store account
  • Internet access
