Apple earphones with mic not responding

last year my earphones didn't respond so I went to my nearest Apple store and asked they gave me a replacement and on 9-7-11 the mic stopped working. I wanted to play a song on lock so I pressed the center button once waited and nothing worked so I tried again.I kept trying put still. so now its not working.

Please help.🙂
