You might get a better response for your question if you repost it in the section intended for Final Pro Cut X, rather than in this OS X 10.6 section. I've requested that this thread be moved, so perhaps the hosts will do that for you.
Get some footage with a green or blue screen background
Add the footage to the timeline
Add the Filter "Keyer" to the timeline footage
Bring up the effects in the Inspector
Use the Refine Key to select an area of the GREEN or BLUE (you can do this throughout the footage)
Use the Refine edge to select the edges of the Keyed person (or thing) - multiple edge detectors
If using GREEN try Strength 100% - Fill Holes 0.35 Edge Distance 14 Spill Level 100% Mix 1
These were my settings - although havn't figured out how to use a garbage matte (or if one exists yet)
Ok....found the garbage matte - Its in the keying section called MASK
Works Good!
The hilarious thing is there are now at least ten video tutorials on YouTube for FCPX for everything. Here is one on green screen. I didn't make it, but thought it was interesting.
I swear if I see one more video of an 8 year old with the attention span of a gerbil attempting to do a "tootorial" I'm going to go "postal" ......
