Hello all

I've got this going constantly on my console

Should I be worried?

Can I stop it?

Best regards

Steve

You've clearly got an app process running in the background (CleanMyMac?). It seems to be set up to run every 10 seconds, perhaps in its Preferences. If this is an app you know about, then I wouldn't worry too much, though perhaps you could reset how often it runs.

If you don't know about it, then I'd take steps to remove it, pronto.

Curious to know what part of that old thread helped,

and could you tell us what you found there helpful..?

The reference to using cleanmymac or mackeeper, etc

are not valid replies to malware or adware infections.

•How to uninstall software:

adware removal guilde (determine if you have adware)

Check the tech guides for ideas on how to look for

whatever parts are still left and running in the back

ground of you Mac OS X... Adware Removal, & etc.

http://www.thesafemac.com/tech-guides/

Other issues include downloaded badware that poses

as a cure for something your Mac never had, and it

will slow down the computer & could lead to damage.

So the fake 'cure' is the problem, & is harder to remove

than the original problem, that is left in the background.

However you detected a problem existed, refine your

skillset and look again. Check other ASC posts and

find out how to copy/paste a report from your Mac OSX

into a new thread and ask for someone to look through

it for the tell-tale bits of software left behind.

Most of the ideas in that MacRumors forum thread are old

and several are major inaccurate; some sport badware as

cures to the existing badware problem. Candy coated junk.

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂
