I am having trouble when creating CD's. I have tried adjusting the level of each song manually. I have tried clicking the Sound Check "on" under the Burning preferences. Either way, when i burn CD's with tracks from different sources, the volume of songs are still not normalized. Ones imported from one CD come out louder than ones imported from other CD's. I have tried this on several different discs, and none of them seem to work. They sound equalized when i play them through the computer, but not when i burn them to disc, then play them on my home stereo. Can someone explain if there is a solution?
iMac G3,
Mac OS X (10.3.9),
I have an old iMac G3 & the latest version of iTunes.
Sound Check in the Burning preferences does not function well in my opinion.
Whatever I've tried, it did not give me satisfactory results.
Therefore I use 'Jam' (roxio.com) to burn my Audio CDs.
It isn't cheap, but the best Audio CD burner available for Mac.
It gives you full control on levels and crossfades.
Last night I found out that iVolume 1 had been replaced by version 2 which apparently does what we want it to do for iPod and burning, it now appears to be working in harmony with iTunes sound-check, or at least it's making it work.
I am now happier with the results on my iPod, version 1 wasn't quite right, haven't tried burning yet though.
It's available for a few dollars from iVolume directly or Kagi.
