Shrink icons in apps dock folder

Is there anyway of shrinking the size of the app icons within the folder that is displayed on the dock? On my iMac ythey are fine, as they all apear on screen at once. But on my MacBook, I have to scroll through them & I don't want to do this.

You can, through terminal change the default look with smaller icons in a "custom view, " however you may still have to scroll.

You might try this after execution of the command, your list view will look like the combination of Grid View and List View. Terminal and paste:

defaults write com.apple.dock use-new-list-stack -bool YES && killall Dock

This command should give you the silver highlite, paste:

defaults write com.apple.dock mouse-over-hilite-stack -boolean YES && killall Dock

of coarse replacing YES with NO will go back to default.
