Record HD in 50i/50p or 60i/60p?

I'm looking at buying a camera/video camera. I can't decide on wether to get the 1080 50i/50p or 1080 60i/60p model. I know I can use software to convert between the different recording formats. However, if most of my video is for use in the USA would it be easier to purchase the 60i/60p model vs. the 50i/50p model? Will this save on possible artifacts when editing the video (converting 50i/50p for playback in the USA)? or is there really no difference?

My instinct tells me to record in the native format I want to use for playback.

Thanks

You will really only want to shoot 60 frames if you are shooting for use in the US.

25 and 50 fps is for PAL countries.

Don't waste your time buying a PAL camera unless you intend to mainly use it for PAL.

But in any case this forum is for mobile iMovie.
