As I said back in 2011, the cut function (command-X) is not allowed with files in the Finder. The equivalent in recent versions of the system is to copy, then paste using the option key (command-option-v, or while holding option, Edit -> Paste becomes Edit -> Move Item Here).

If you're trying to cut files in the Finder, that is not allowed. Cut with files has to be either dangerous (risking data loss) or inconsistent with cut in all other cases, and neither of those are things that Apple seems to like. Use drag and drop instead.

Here too. I been searching on internet what is the problem and trying to contact to Apple. I can only move the folder with mouse but not Command X.

But what if you're trying to cut text - like when you're typing comments? Is there not a shortcut for paste??
This discussion is not about cutting text, it's about working with files. Cutting and pasting text works just fine, as it always has.
Try drag and drop
