TOP 2005 PLUGINS & NEW PLUGINS FOR 2006

2005 has ended and 2006 is now here. Lets see which plugins everyone mostly used in Logic Pro this year. All go first.

1. Space Designer (Reverb Plugin in)

I slected this plugin because of it's wide range of reverbs. What I don't like about this plugin Is the loading time.

(include external plugins if you like as well)

I use a wide range of the plugs and fx that come with logic, but my overall favourite is Spectrasonics Stylus RMX. This is a fantastic plug, it comes with a lot of content which can all be completely mangled in amazing ways.

I also have their Trilogy and Atmosphere Plugs

Reaktor 5 is another firm favourite, the library of instruments and fx is vast.

Native Plugs:

1.) EXS24 - Intuitive, efficient. Can garner amazing results with almost any type of instrument. I primarily use it for drums.

2.) Channel EQ - On every track, almost.

3.) Pitch Shifter II - while not the best pitch shifting algorithms, I am very fond of the adjustable "colour" parameter.

4.) Space Designer - Use it on the hats, some mid range instruments, etc. Expansive reverb options with quality results.

Third Party:

1.) Absynth 3 - The sickest synth plug ever. Not only for its already expansive and tight preset library, but the programming interface is great and nicely designed. Great relationship between program and user through the GUI.

2.) PSP Vintage Warmer - Tight final limiter for the bounced mix.

"The Producer" from Korg's OASYS PCI. Really shapes things up in no time.

This is one of those coveted trade secrets and I don't know if I should be sharing this... translation tools, open your vocal files as text and return it in French. Then paste/replace over the english ones. This is one of those coveted trade secrets and I don't know if I should be sharing this...

LOGIC PRO GUY, DID YOU GET YOUR MIRAGE SAMPLER YET!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?

You know, this brings up a great idea...I could make a Mirage AU in 2006. LOGIC PRO GUY...SHOULD I PUT YOU DOWN FOR 3?

I'll sell a controller (like the Legacy) expansion which would be a USB floppy drive and some bricks in a retro module. Maybe I culd get some old Digidesign 442 modules and run them with 50dB pads on the way in and voila! People with the expansion could really get that extra edge soundwise that traditional sample importing will not allow. And it will be very CPU friendly.
