What happens if I cancel analyzing for stabilization while it is in progress?

I was in the middle of analyzing 42 clips for stabilization after import and my camera (which was plugged into my macbook for the import) died which apparently upset my computer. The camera import window which had the clips imported in it dissapeared but the blue bar which showed the progress of the analyzing for stabilization remained. Right now however, the bar is stuck on clip 22 of 42 and the spinning rainbow wait cursor is stuck spinning...it's been like this for quite some time. I've closed all other applications and I'm wondering what will happen if I cancel the stabilization and/or force quite iMovie. Will I lose all the progress I've made so far? Thanks
