Try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then try restoring the iPod via iTunes on yur computer. For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
Also see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Frozen and unresponsive
DId you reset by holding down the home and power buttons for about 15 seconds? If that doesn't work, try plugging it into your computer and clicking restore.
Try placing the iPod in DFU mode and then see if it appears in iTunes.

Next would be to make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
i have tried holding the buttons but that does nothing. When i plug it into the computer it doesnt show up as a device because it is unresponsive so it wont let me restore or do anything.
If i do that does it mean i will lose everything on my ipod?
Unfortunately, yes. But it's better than a non-working iPod.
