I too am very frusterated with Apples "new" design of it's music player. We are all waiting for the next update. Apple please hurry. I used to be able to download AAC audio books that would show different pictures from the actual book as it was being read. Now no pictures come up. Anyone else find that? Is there a solution. Apple please bring back the old music player or at least give us the option to choose which one we want to use.

No 30sec rewind either..... What's up with that??

I most certainly agree, Spacific! I just bought the iPad2 in order to have the larger interface, and install some drawing programs. But I'm stuck with trying, unsuccessfully, to delete unwanted music!! (I have an iPod which works fine for my music, and my collection would max out this 64 Gig iPad, leaving me no room for anything else.) I tried Demo's suggestion, but I do not get the same results. Very frustrating indeed. And yes, I was hoping to download books, but at this rate, I cannot see that working either.

Hello. I own an iPad 2 & an iPhone 4. I plan on purchasing an iPhone 5S soon. I have most of my music on both devices. (Music is automatically downloaded to both devices--they do this for anything that can be downloaded to both. I'm not sure how to stop the downloads to my iPad when I download a new song, movie, or app.) I too would like to delete my music from my iPad as I am almost out of room on it. I use my iPhone for listening to music all the time now. My problem is that my computer died and I have no way to sync with iTunes now. Does anyone know of a more direct or alternate way to delete music from an iPad 2?

Part of your question is already answered here.

Music can be deleted in Setting/General/Usage/Music, then swipe sideways on All Music, it's an all or nothing option. You can also delete one track at a time through the Music App on the Song list by swiping side ways on the song title.

You can also selectively delete music from with in the Music app by swiping sideways in the Song view or tap and hold in the Artist and Album view to reveal a black "X" button. To prevent store purchases from auto downloading on the iPad go to Settings/iTunes & App Store and turn off the items you do not want to auto download.

I give up. I am so ******. Just got a new iPad The f'ing music is all screwed up even after I trashed some I did not want. Emptied my trash, deleted all music on iPad showed 0 then went back to iTunes to download only checked songs and got the **** entire library again. I checked only the song checked. All the right buttons. I have been downloading music on my iPod for 6 years and iPhone and same thing happened to my iPhone as soon as Ios7 happened. The worst OS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! I am ready to send this **** iPad back. Getting sick of Apple.

Please, a straight answer!

Is that a YES to cloud icons?

?

?

If sync did not resolve the issue, would you like to know how to get rid of them?

Turn " show all music" switch to OFF. In settings

Go back to music app to songs. Download each song with the cloud icon, then swipe to delete. They will not show again. You can go further by going into your purchases on computer and hiding items you do not want downloading again (until you un-hide).
