First time Server Setup

Hi Forum,

I am setting up my first server and am having trouble binding client machines. I have opted for the standard install give the server a name of xxxx.server and everything seems to be running ok. DNS has a green light which i am assuming is good.

My issue is i am unable to bind client machines. I have a MacBook Pro running Leopard and a Mac Pro running snow leopard. I choose accounts, login options and join my local server network. Each machine then says there are network accounts available after reboot. I have setup accounts on the server and when i try and log in with these accounts to screen shakes. Obviously there is something wrong, and any help to solve this would be appreciated.

regards

Nik

Check out http://www.afp548.com/filemgmt_data/files/Leopard%20Server%20Quickstart%20Guide. pdf . This guide is pretty well done and allows you to get a server up and running in a matter of hours. I strongly suggest you check out http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/Getting_Started_v10.5.pdf too. Just get in mind you'll always use it in Advanced configuration, but things are not that bad.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
